Do you prepare business returns as well as personal ones?
Yes. Individual and family returns, and partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, estate and nonprofit returns.
When is the best time to talk about tax planning?
Before the year ends. Most savings, like retirement contributions, the timing of income and expenses, or a change of business structure, have to be in place by December 31 to count.
How do I send you my documents?
Through our secure portal. Please do not send tax documents or ID by email: the portal keeps them protected, and we let you know exactly what we still need.
What if my return is not ready by April 15?
We can file an extension, which gives six more months to file. An extension does not extend the time to pay, so if you are likely to owe, we estimate the amount with you and it is paid by April 15.
Do you work with established businesses, not just new ones?
Yes. From monthly accounting and bookkeeping to fractional CFO work, we work with businesses at every stage, including long-established companies with multiple owners and a full payroll.
Do you work with clients outside Maryland?
Yes. We are based in Montgomery County, Maryland, and work with clients across Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia, in New York and New Jersey, and in other states. Documents come to us through our secure portal, so distance is rarely an issue.
Do you specialize in any industry?
Property management. We have particular depth with property management companies: the multi-property books, owner and vendor reporting, and the year-end filings the business depends on.
What happens after I get in touch?
You answer a few quick questions about yourself or your business, we talk through what you need, and we send a short, personal checklist of what to gather. No long forms up front.
